Yacht textile care: what Prestige Care assesses before confirming scope

Prestige Care assesses material, use, access and conditions on board before confirming the scope of yacht textile care.

The assessment comes before scope confirmation

For yacht textile care on the Costa del Sol, Prestige Care assesses material, use, access and conditions on board before confirming scope. Assessment comes first; it does not guarantee a particular treatment or result.

Material, use and cushion construction

Material and use are part of Prestige Care's assessment. Sunbrella's US-market upholstery guidance illustrates their relevance: it distinguishes indoor and outdoor care according to furniture construction and application. This is manufacturer-specific guidance, not confirmation that the textiles aboard your yacht are Sunbrella or that one approach suits every item.

Sunbrella advises consulting the furniture manufacturer before removing cushion casings because construction varies. Only some removable casings are machine washable. Being able to remove a cover is not, by itself, a reason to machine wash it.

Access and conditions on board

Sunbrella's marine canvas guidance allows cleaning on the boat or, where size permits removal, dockside. This illustrates why access matters when assessing scope, but it does not confirm that Prestige Care offers either cleaning arrangement.

For marine upholstery, Sunbrella separately requires thorough rinsing to remove cleaning residue and specifies air drying. These requirements illustrate why conditions on board matter; they do not establish Prestige Care's method, drying arrangements or a drying time for your items. Guidance for canvas should not automatically be applied to upholstery, or vice versa.

Stain-removal uncertainty and protection of surroundings

Sunbrella does not guarantee complete stain removal when spills have not been addressed promptly. Its guidance does not establish whether a particular stain on your yacht can be fully removed.

Sunbrella also warns that bleach can discolour other fabrics and advises against its use around water or in environments that could be affected. These cautions are not a recommendation to use bleach, a description of Prestige Care's products, or permission to discharge cleaning products into surrounding water.

What to have available and ask before scope is confirmed

If available, have fabric identification and manufacturer care instructions ready to discuss. Describe which items are involved, whether they are used inside or outside, and any access constraints or conditions on board. For cushions, ask whether the furniture manufacturer permits casing removal or washing. These are optional discussion prompts, not confirmed Prestige Care submission requirements.

For identified Sunbrella fabrics, ask the cleaner about experience with those fabrics and knowledge of their cleaning and retreatment requirements, as Sunbrella recommends. Ask for confirmation rather than assuming fabric-specific experience or a retreatment service.

After assessment, ask Prestige Care what scope, exclusions and preparation steps can be confirmed for your yacht. Sharing information or discussing possible care does not authorize treatment.
